demanding and requires hard efforts. I have to be a diligent student and train
myself extremely hard.

IV. PROCEDURE
First, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Hoang ThanhThao
from Nam TuLiemjunior high school. As we all know, the 21 stcentury is the era
of globalization. Everything is on the way to develop, so is the job. Now, a
very new job appearing in Viet Nam that draws great attraction of Vietnamese
teenagers is Fashion Designer. Some programs on TV aim to seek people
having grand passion for fashion such as Project Runaway.
Although there are some people who took this opportunity to become
famous or to get money, I don’t belong to that kind of people. I come to
fashion because of my passion. I want to develop the fashion industry in my
country and bring it to the world. By my own skills, I have designed a
collection of “Aodai”, which is the combination ofthe traditional elegant
beauty in 1990s and the modern and dynamic style in the 21st century.
Aodai is considered thetraditional dress of Viet Nam. It first appeared in
the 20stcentury. To some degrees, the Ao Dai looks like Cheong Sam – the
traditional dress of China. However, they are not the same. There are many
differences between them like the color or the style.
In1990s, the Ao Dai was designed with lots of attractive details. In the
past, the Ao Dai was tailor-made for King and Queen from silk or brocatelle,
featuring sophisticated and original patterns. In the 21 st century, it becomes
the popular dress from Vietnamese women, teachers, and students.
Ao Dai is highly praised in many beauty contests. The aodai emphasizes
the way the dress ties feminine beauty to Vietnamese nationalism, especially in
the form of "Miss Ao Dai" contests, popular both among overseas Vietnamese
and in Vietnam itself. Ao Dai can be perfectly worn with a conical leaf hat.
"Aodai" is one of the few Vietnamese words that appears in English-language
dictionaries.
Aodai have becomed a symbol of great art. Not only is the traditional
dress of Vietnam honoring widely used, but also many foreigners are
preferred. In 1970, the Ao Dai was given gold medal in ethnic costumes at
international fairs in Osaka, Japan. The Aodai are a bridge between Vietnam
and the world on five continents. For the foreigners, Aodai ismemories, the
image of the beauty of Vietnam.
V. FINAL THOUGHTS
Today people have a wide range of clothes. They normally wear jeans,
skirt, blouse, coatin the daily life and only choosethe Ao Dai on special
occasions like wedding or new academic year celebration. Teenagers don’t
want to wear the Ao Dai because they tend to consider that it is out of fashion
and only suitable for teachers or ladies. That leads me to create a collection of
the Ao Dai with an aim promote the Vietnamese beauty. Finally, let’s join
hands to both conserve and promote the Ao Dai.
VI. OVERVIEW ON RESEARCHES
I would like to show my collection:Ao Dai – The traditional dress of Vietnam
Combining 3 colours: yellow, black and purple make the aodai be classical
and vintage but luxurious with a phoenix on it.Thisaodai will elevate the
beauty of the women.
By the idea of a symbol of Vietnam: lotus. The Aodai became so
modest. The pattern beside the lotus made it more lively than ever. This
style will be suitable for special occasion such as the beginning of a new
school year.

The style of this aodai is a typical kind of traditional aodai. You can see the
phoenix pattern- a widespread pattern embroidered on it. It brings us the feeling
of luxury but modest.
Taking the idea from Chinese, the designer make this aodai look refined.
The designer took the idea of the dress from XangHai, Chinese. This
kind of dress is only for nobilities. It often has the flowers pattern on it. Most
one who is between the age of 20 to 30 wear this. It’s suitable for all occasion.
This kind of aodai is aristocratic, suitable for old lady.

traditional aodai and modern dress. That’s also why it looks both simple and
fashionable. It’s suitable for every events
It’s soothing, sexy, yet, still unobstructive. It looks classical, but polite
There might be no common between this style and aodai. But if you look
carefully, its collar have a similarity to a kind of Vietnam’s traditional dress.
The idea from Europe has bring inspiration to the designer to
make this dress. It’s charming with the style of clinging the woman’s
body. It is a dress that should be worn at the wedding or meeting,…
The aodai is so pretty with ĐôngSơn kettledrum on the chest. It looks simple,
yet, it bring us the feeling of the modesty of the Vietnamese.
The dress look so luxurious, suitable for women . It’s often used in important
occasion like meeting,…
VII. Conclusion

practice. The main aim is you own myself, I want to preserve, promote,
and celebrate the beauty of the Ao Dai. And in the near future, I may
wish to have conditions handedly made the costume design as above,
and put his clothes all over the world. To be a world-known traditional
